This Traffic Signal Operations course presents information regarding vehicle and pedestrian detection systems used in modern traffic signal control.  The material is intended to provide a practical overview of detection types, components, and operational characteristics. This Traffic Signal Operations course presents information regarding vehicle and pedestrian detection systems used in modern traffic signal control.  The material is intended to provide a practical overview of detection types, components, and operational characteristics.  This is not an introductory course and a basic knowledge of traffic signal operation is assumed. Course Outline This three hour online course presents information regarding detection systems for traffic signals:

    1. BASIC DESCRIPTION OF DETECTOR ASSEMBLIES
    2. LOCKING AND. NON-LOCKING OPERATION
    3. MOTION VS. PRESENCE DETECTION
    4. TYPES OF VEHICLE DETECTOR ASSEMBLIES
    5. OVERHEAD VEHICLE DETECTION
    6. UNDERGROUND VEHICLE DETECTION
    7. DETERMINING LOOP INDUCTANCE
    8. INDUCTIVE LOOP INSTALLATION
    9. INDUCTIVE LOOP TESTING
    10. DILEMMA ZONE PROTECTION
  1. PEDESTRIAN DETECTION

Thought this was a video/webinar, it’s not. The reference document did cover the material well, in a concise but complete manner. Lots of information in a short paper.

The test started with an incomplete question (#1!) with no provision to even select an answer. The test was otherwise fair and covered the material. Nothing tricky.

    1. Thank You for the course evaluation. The course is advertised as a text Course. We’ve fixed the incomplete question.
